Longdue is a new independent studio comprising staff from Disco Elysium studio ZA/UM, as well as developers from the likes of Bungie and Rockstar. Eurogamer understands Robert Kurvitz and Aleksander Rostov are not involved.
The studio’s first game will involve a “groundbreaking ‘psychogeographic RPG’ mechanic”, where decisions made in the narrative will reshape the world and its characters.

Cosy RPG Hawthorn looks like Stardew Valley and Skyrim had an adorable baby together

Yesterday, several former developers from studios such as Bethesda, BioWare and Naughty Dog revealed their upcoming game – the rather delightful looking Hawthorn.
Hawthorn is coming from brand-new indie developer NEARstudios, which boasts some impressive talent including Mass Effect and The Last of Us veterans, as well as Skyrim’s lead designer Bruce Nesmith.
Perhaps we shouldn’t be surprised by Nesmith’s new position at the studio, though. Afterall, Hawthorn really does look like a charming combination of Skyrim and village simulation games such as Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley. I am talking about mice chopping down crops that are several times their size, before preparing a nice meal for top hat wearing otters, all in a very Skyrim-fantasy style setting.

Switch emulator Ryujinx seemingly pulled offline by creator after contact from Nintendo

Following the demise of Yuzu earlier this year, Switch emulator Ryujinx has seemingly ceased development and been taken offline after its creator was contacted by Nintendo.

Ryujinx initially surfaced in 2018, having started development the year before, and was the first Switch emulator capable of booting commercial games. The open source project has continued since then, with creator gdkchan funding development through Patreon.

Now, though, it seems Ryujinx has gone the way of now-defunct Switch emulator Yuzu. Users began reporting a 404 message when trying to access Ryujinx’s Github page earlier today, with concern mounting when the emulator’s download page became inaccessible.

Sony's PlayStation 6 will reportedly include AMD chips for backwards compatibility

Backwards compatibility is a key reason AMD will be the chip manufacturer for Sony’s PlayStation 6 console.
As reported by Reuters, AMD and Intel were the final two contenders in a bidding war to manufacture the computer chip for Sony’s next console.
However, AMD ultimately won the bid – with the need to provide backwards compatibility for previous consoles reportedly a major factor.
Both Sony’s PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles feature custom AMD CPU and GPU chips, so it makes sense to maintain consistency to ensure compatibility with games from previous generations. This, and the rise of digital ownership, has helped the transition between these consoles.
